Information We Collect

MileSmile collects minimal information necessary to provide our services:

• Names of the people you add to your group, and any optional age range or interests you choose to give them
• Game topics and custom questions you generate
• If we ask how you found MileSmile and you choose “Other”, the short note you type there. It is optional, and skipping it changes nothing about the app
• Usage analytics to improve our services

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and maintain our game services
• Generate personalized game content
• Improve user experience and app functionality
• Respond to user inquiries and provide support

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored locally on your device. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

To generate questions for your group, the details you enter about the people playing — their names and any optional age range or interests — are sent to our AI model provider as part of the request. These details are used only to generate that content. We never ask for anyone's exact age; age is an optional broad range only. If you turn on offline mode, the app sends these question and speech requests in a batch up front instead of one at a time as you play. The same providers are involved and nothing further about the players is sent, but more requests are made in total, and how many depends on how much content you choose to keep available offline. Deleting the app's data removes everything stored on your device.

Content kept on your device for offline use

MileSmile saves game content to your device so you can keep playing with no connection — on a road trip, for example. This does not collect anything new about you: it is the same content you would receive as you play, kept for longer. Three kinds of content are stored:

• Generated questions. Questions created for the topics you play are kept on the device, so that you are not shown the same question twice, and so that unplayed ones are available without a connection. Some are kept for any topic you play; turning on offline mode for a topic simply keeps more of them.
• Downloaded decks — the full text of the curated decks you choose to download. A limited number of decks can be kept at once; once you reach that limit, you remove one before downloading another.
• Downloaded audio — the spoken versions of questions used by Car Mode. This is by far the largest of the three: a single topic downloaded in full can run to tens of megabytes. Some audio is also saved automatically as Car Mode reads ahead during play.

You can remove this content, and it is worth being precise about what each action removes:

• Downloaded audio can be removed for any topic or deck, from that topic's or deck's info sheet.
• A downloaded deck can be removed in full — both its questions and its audio.
• Questions saved for a topic are deliberately kept when you turn offline mode off for that topic, so that content you already generated is not destroyed. They are removed when you delete the topic itself.
• All of it is removed if you uninstall the app, or clear the app's data from your device settings.

Removing downloaded content never requires a connection, so you can free up space on your device even when you are offline.

Third-Party Services

MileSmile uses third-party services including:

• AI model provider for content generation
• Analytics services for usage insights

In-App Purchases and Payments

MileSmile offers in-app purchases for premium features and subscriptions. Payment processing is handled by:

• RevenueCat: Our payment processor that handles subscription management and purchase verification. RevenueCat collects transaction data including purchase IDs, subscription status, and payment dates. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Apple App Store / Google Play: Platform-specific payment processing services that handle all payment information securely.

Data we collect for purchases:

• Transaction IDs and purchase receipts
• Subscription status and expiration dates
• Product identifiers (e.g., week pass, monthly subscription)

Important: We do NOT collect or store your payment card information, billing address, or other sensitive payment details. All payment processing is handled securely by Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat.

Data usage: Purchase data is used solely to:

• Verify your subscription status and unlock premium features
• Provide customer support for purchase-related inquiries
• Prevent fraud and ensure transaction security
• Comply with legal and financial reporting requirements

Your purchase data is NOT sold to third parties and is only shared with our payment processor (RevenueCat) as necessary to provide our services.

Children's Privacy

MileSmile is designed to be family-friendly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

An adult using the app may choose to add a child to their group in order to get age-appropriate questions. If they do, only what they type is used — a name, an optional broad age range (child, teen or adult) and any optional interests. We never ask for a child's exact date of birth or age, and these details are used solely to generate content for that group. They can be removed at any time from within the app.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access and review your personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the effective date.
